Halls aluminium greenhouses
Halls Aluminium Greenhouses
Founded in the 30s by Robert Hall, Halls initially specialised in timber buildings such as sheds, poultry houses and some greenhouses.By the 1960s Halls was the biggest single importer of Cedar from Canada, importing it literally by the shipload, and had over 600 staff. During the early 70s oil crisis, the price of Cedar tripled and the company was forced into a new direction, pioneering the first flat packed, self assembly greenhouse, made from aluminium - an award winning innovation at the time. Since then Halls has effectively been the market leader in the UK, although a turbulent time in the last 20 years, with a number of re-births has now stabilised since 2008 when Halls were taken over by the largest greenhouse company in the world; Juliana from Denmark. Now Halls supplies virtually every DIY multiple and supermarket that sells greenhouses.
