The best type of gas for this heater is Propane (red canister), Butane (blue canister) will freeze in winter. Please note both Propane and Butane are often referred to as LPG.
Q. I bought a similar one to this 2 years ago and was fine until this years minus 10 and lower, the burner would burn and then go out and so ruined my cuttings! How do I know this won't do the same? - Thank you.
A. Setting the Thermostat to MAXIMUM would usually prevent the burner going out. Extreme temperatures, such as those experienced in December 2010 do cause problems for gardeners. Most of our heaters hav e frost-free guide (ie. This heater will keep a 6'x8' building frost-free (above 5C)). This is based on the average british coldest temperature of -0.2 Centigrade. Should temperatures be looking to go to -10 Centigrade again then I would recommend doubling the output (ie. if 1.5kW is the advertised frost-free, then ensure that you have 3kW) to ensure that your plants remain happy.
Q. hi folks,i was just wondering the dimensions of this unit, thanks
A. Size: 14? x 7? x 21? high / 35.5cm x 18cm x 53cm
